We want to redirect non-www traffic to www. I have this feature enabled in Admin Tools for other sites, but for some reason, the dropdown with the three options is grayed out on this particular site. I presume some other configuration option is locking it, but I can't determine what. Any thoughts?

For the time being, I added the rule manually to the "Custom .htaccess rules" section in Admin Tools, which is working fine, so I guess I"m just curious to learn what was blocking the feature in <htaccess maker.

can you please take a look at your configuration.php file. What's the value for the $live_site variable?
In 99% of cases it should be empty, I suspect in your case it has a value AND has the www prefix. Can you please double check that? Can you please try to remove the contents of such variable?
