Hello -- I am hosted on a Windows shared service (WinHost) and I cannot back up my site without getting the message "Cannot list contents of directory..." and "Unreadable directory".  I have contacted my hosts support however they say they cannot grant access to a script on their shared platform to a level above the root.  Thus when Akeeba is looking into the E:\web\ynmlistc directory it is getting denied.

Please provide me an alternative which does not require my host to make any further changes (they won't).  I have been using this great product for years.  Akeeba had been working perfectly on another host however this one's platform is different (I'd even look to move again however first I need to be able to backup the site successfully).

I appreciate your thoughts!

Hello,

I'm sorry but that's a permission issue, something that only your host can fix. They must add browse permissions (can't remember the exact name under Windows) to the folder ynmlistc, which should contain the root of your site, right?

Without that, the PHP executable won't have enough permissions to list the contents of your site and thus create a backup.
