My backup keeps failing when it gets to the " Backing up files" stage. I have set the split archive option. I have also had my host switch the max upload size to 40mb. I couldn't find any other help solutions.
AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
This is the error.
Raw server response:
H-SPHERE
Error 500: Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

The problem is on the server side, not with your browser or the address. Most probably, a certain service (e.g., Tomcat engine) is down. Please contact your webmaster.

heres the log

That was easy! You have a 1.8 Gb backup file in the root of your site that is being included in your backup. Since there is a 2 Gb "hard" limit file size on a 32 bit operating system, you're hitting the file size maximum and getting the 500 error. Delete or exclude the backup file and try again. :) You should probably set your split archive size to 2 Gb in anticipation of your site backup growing to 2 Gb in the future.
