I am unable to make the Akeeba Remote backup work for one of my domains (all on the same server), and I just ca't figure out what it could be. The backup process itself seems to run OK, but the download isn't. Depending what port I have set in the Akeeba Remote Control's settings (I have changed between ports 0 and 21), I get the following errors:

Either: Could not connect to the ftp server.
Please check your connection parameters.
(Port 0)
Or:
FTP_ERROR_CANTCHANGEDIR
(Port 21)

I have also tried increasing the time between bckup and download but that didn't help.

Can someone help me finding a slution to my problem?
I have attached a screenshot of the Akeeba Remote control's settings.

Thanks alot in advance.

First, the port is 21. The default value is stupid, I know that and I keep forgetting to change it on new releases.

Second: your directory is wrong. You have to enter the FTP directory, not the file system directory. In order to figure out the correct setting, do this. Connect to your site with FileZilla and navigate to the backup output directory. When you're there, take a look at the right-hand pane, above the folder tree. You can see a path like /public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup. Copy it and paste it in Remote Control's "FTP Path to backup output directory". Click OK, retry, it'll work now :)

FYI, this is documented in the site definition editor's documentation page, accessible by clicking the Help (cross) icon on the bottom right of the dialog itself. Just look for the "FTP Path to backup output directory" heading.

Thank you, you made my day. It all works after the path change. It's all so easy once you know what to do...:-)

Thanks for this excellent extension!
