Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes - and I have checked all 7 points mentioned in 'Akeeba Backup throws an AJAX Error, 500 Internal Server Error...'
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.4
PHP version: 5.3.10
MySQL version: 5.5.20-55
Host: Byte - NL
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.3

Description of my issue:
After a few seconds when I push 'Backup now' I get an error:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
Raw server response:

Normally Akeeba is working always.

What is changed?
I installed error404 component (today)

Maybe this could help, I switched PHP-error log to 'on' on the server.
I found a PHP error in a log:
[10-May-2012 17:57:24 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class AEFilterPlatformFiles in ...path../cms.1-2-appletree.nl/administrator/components/com_akeeba/akeeba/platform/joomla15/filters/files.php on line 37

Could you help Nicholas?

It looks like one of the core files in Akeeba Backup is corrupt. I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the component. Please note that uninstalling Akeeba Backup will lose your settings and remove any backup archives stored in the default backup output directory (administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup). Make sure you write down your settings and keep a local copy of the backup archive you need to keep.
