Wondering if you might be able to give me some other ideas for how to get this backup job to complete.  The grand total of files to be backed up is around 28gigs.  In each case the backup is set to upload to S3.  The system stops sending parts to S3 at random times in the upload process with errors such as the error shown below.  On rare occasions the backup will complete but 90% of the time it does not.

Things I have done to try to fix:

Played with the part size, everything from 10MB up to 512MB.

Cut down on the amount to be backed up.  Instead of the whole 28gigs I have done folder selection to cut it down to half that.

The error log is attached but here is the relevant part.  Thank you for any other ideas you might have for this.

FYI, yes, I know PHP is outdated.  We are close to being able to migrate to a 7x account but can't until a few other updates are done to the main site.

The message you are getting indicates that Amazon S3 itself experienced an internal error. That is to say, the problem is on Amazon's side. Can you please try uploading a backup to the same bucket and directory from a different site that you know for a fact is working properly? If that works my suspicion would be that your host has put a proxy in front of your server which messes with the outbound request to Amazon S3. This would indeed cause the request to make no sense and there's a good chance Amazon S3 would throw an internal error.
