Hello,

I suspect there's something that is requiring an higher version of PHP than the one you have installed.

Can you please enable the debug mode and try again the installation? You should receive a more detailed error message.

There could be a couple of workarounds for this, but let's try with the fastest solution: is it possible to use a newer version of PHP?

Ok, not problem then. You are having this issue because you have installed a newer version of FOF library which requires PHP 7.1 or later.

When you try to install Akeeba Backup 7.1.4, the FOF library is not installed, since a newer version is found. You will have to do that manually.

Please download Akeeba Backup 7.1.4 and extract it locally. You will find a package named lib_fof30.zip . Extract such package, too, then upload it on your site in the folder libraries/fof30

Then install Akeeba Backup 7.1.4 as usual.

That should fix your issue.
