There is a bug in Akeeba Backup 7.3.2 which only affects the CLI backups (akeeba-backup.php). A new version, 7.3.2.1, is now released which addresses the issue. Upgrading to it will fix the CLI backups.

In 7.3.2 I changed the way the default description is generated for all backups, regardless of their source (CLI, backend, frontend, remote JSON API). This code requires the backup engine to be loaded. The CLI script was trying to get the default description before the backup engine is loaded, causing a PHP fatal error. The new version 7.3.2.1 correctly loads the backup engine before trying to get the default backup description, addressing the issue.
