This is a general question concerning ANGIE Password.  If no password is entered in the configuration file and I using the Norton Vault in my Chrome browser, on a Joomla backup, will it automatically generate a random password and insert it in the ANGIE Password?

Is this a situation that it might be best to enter a 'fixed' ANGIE Password to ensure you 'know' what the password is?

As I've said too many times, the problem is that your browsers and / or browser extensions override the autocomplete="off" attribute we put in the password field. All we can do is wait for about half a second before resetting the fields. If your third party password manager retries to fill the password after that, well, there's nothing else we can do.

Having a "fixed" password (known to everyone) is not a solution. It's the same as no password.

Having a preconfigured password in the Configuration page is, indeed, a solution which had been possible for a while. In previous versions up to and including 7.5.0.1 you were also able to change it in the Backup Now page. Starting with version 7.5.1 you no longer can. It always uses what you've set in the Configuration page.

So, you just need to update to version 7.5.1.

Nicholas,

I have upgraded all websites for the most recent version and set a 'standard' ANGIE password on all websites.

Thanks.
