EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

We have one profile for our Production site backup.

We run the CLI version of the backup around 00:30 in the morning. This back up takes about 6-7 mins.

If I use the Back Up Now Function using the same profile it takes between 25 and 30 mins? Sometime it can 40+ second waiting for server response

Why is there an execution time difference? Our web site is not particularly busy at the moment. Is there anything I should look at changing the profile?

I have attached screen shots of the Back Up now in action, The differences between cli band back up now and the profile configuration we use

Any help would be useful in reducing the back up now time.

Kind regards

Hello,

it's expected to have a difference between CLI and web backups. The web backup will issue several requests until the backup is finally complete and in most cases we have to break the execution to remain inside host timing constrains. Each step will have some overhead, since you have your whole Joomla website before Akeeba Backup can kick in.

On the other hand, CLI backups are way more efficient: they run in a single shot and we do not have to break the execution to avoid any timeout. All those savings will pile up to create a very short execution time.

So everything is working as expected, there's nothing to worry about.
