Description of my issue:

I purchased a template from Joomlashack.  Their 'quickstart' package is build with Akeeba, and installed splendidly.

Once I logged into the admin page, I saw no menu for Akeeba.  I tried to install my registered one and it errors first about not deleting .htaccess, then a number of cannot find; cannot remove; errors.

I tried to uninstall Akeeba through Joomla but it fails stating  missing files.

I tried manually removing directories and files base on a forum post at Joomla, but that fails as well,

I need some way to remove it so I can install my version.

Thanks for any help

Akeeba Staff

Hello,

what you're describing is a ownership/permissions issue: your current server user can't delete the files on your site.

You should contact your host and report the problem, in the meantime you can try to enable the FTP Layer inside Joomla Global Configuration and see if that can work around your issue.
