Just noticed that when using "administer backup files" for downloading a jpa file, and starting fireftp in another tab, the download was cut off and jpa was saved as a partial file.
Fix - Do as reccomended use ftp to start with or wait for dl to finish!!!
Not sure about why this happened, just thought it might be helpfull to others

I Always use FTP to download.

Or better still have the backup transfered to Amazon S3 or Dropbox.

This sounds like a FireFTP bug. I assume that you can simply resume the transfer. Better yet, use FileZilla or, if you're a Mac user and don't mind shoving 40 bucks, Transmit. These are the two FTP clients that I have thoroughly tested and work like a charm in Binary Transfer mode :)
