Hi,

I tried to use the smart update feature to upgrade my version of Akeeba to the latest. Something went wrong with the upgrade and I know get : 404 - An error has occurred Component Not Found error if I select the Akeeba menu under components. I also get this error if I try to select Extensions install/uninstall.

To make matter worse it look like my last few daily backups have failed.

If it helps administrator/components/com_akeeba contains:

Akeeba.xml
restore.php
uninstall.akeeba.php

and components/com_akeeba is empty

Any suggestions how I can install akeeba backup and get my extensions install/uninstall menu back?

Many thanks

nicholas

Please download the latest version (3.2.7 or 3.3.b1) installation ZIP package and install it manually, using your site's Extensions -> Install/Uninstall, without uninstalling what you have right now on your site.

Sorry if I was unclear but selecting Extensions -> Install/Uninstall results in a 404 - An error has occurred Component Not Found error, see attached.

Akeeba appears to have been (partly) uninstalled by auto update as trying to run it results in 404 - An error has occurred Component Not Found error.

I cannot restore to previous version as these backups have failed and I will loose data.

Thanks

Ah! OK, now I get it :)

Please go to Extensions, Plugins Manager, find the "System - System Restore Points" plugin and disable it. Then go back to Extensions, Install/Uninstall and install the ZIP package of Akeeba Backup. This will work now.
