My customer told me, that the Wordpress Akeeba "Core" Version is not the one he bought ... so my question is:
Where is the difference?
As I have a subscription for akeeba, how can I upgrade?

Sorry, I posted before writing ... can you see the question now?

Ah, yes, I see.

You installed Akeeba Backup Core through WordPress' Plugins page. It can only see the free (Core) version, not the paid one. Uninstall it. Then download the Pro version from our site and follow our documentation instructions to install it. It's basically extract the ZIP file locally, create a directory wp-content/plugins/akeebabackup on your site, upload the files there, then go to WP's Plugins page and activate the plugin.

Ok, it worked. But finally it was not really clear when I decided to buy a subscription. Even when I bought one it wasn't clear that a new installation is necessary.

You helped me, so it is ok for me.
Maybe you can think about the products page, make it clearer.

We are already in the process of creating professional video tutorials which explain the update process. They are currently in the post-production step. Once we have uploaded them we will link to them both in the product page as well as the email we send you when you subscribe.

To be honest, our original intention was to let you enter your Download ID in the plugin and have it automatically update itself. Unfortunately, WordPress displays updates to the Core release based on the directory name (akeebabackupcore) and not based on the information contained in the plugin's .php or readme.txt. During the beta period many clients were misled into "upgrading" from a Pro release to a Core release, losing the additional features. Our only option was to require a new installation of the plugin, even though that's not as user friendly as what we had in mind.
