Hi,

As you can see from the attached screen shot, akeeba is set to store the last 3 versions of the backup but the later versions are not deleted.

What could be causing this issue?

Thanks,

Mike

Are your backup records marked "obsolete"? If so, this is normal. The actual backup files are deleted, but the record of the backup is retained. There should be a setting there to control how many obsolete records to keep. Note that zero would mean "keep all records", the smallest number you can retain would be one.

Hi Dale,

No that's the thing - they are not marked as obsolete - they are live backups that fill the disk up.

Mike,

OK, the quotas are per profile, so if you have multiple profiles your limits may appear not to be working. If you have a limit of three backups for Profile #1 and three for Profile #2, that is a total of six. There is a column on the Administer Backups screen that shows you what profile was used for the backup. Is that what's happening?

Hi Dale,

We only have the default profile.

Mike,

You have enabled the Maximum Day quotas, so, all other quotas are ignored. Backups from the past 3 days will be always stored, plus the backups from the 1st of every month.

Hi Dale,

I understand what you are saying but, as you can see from the attachment, more than 3 backups are being saved.

I can give you login access if you wish to investigate.

Regards,

Mike

Here we go

Mike,

The "Activar cuotas de edad maxima de respaldo" should be unchecked. That means "keep all backups made in the last three days". If you do 20 backups in that time period, it keeps them all.

You need to check the "Permitir cuota per conteo" box. That will keep only the number of backups set in the following field. That is what you want.
