IMPORTANT! Please remember to ZIP and attach your backup log file. Without it we are unlikely to be able to help you with backup issues. Thank you!

Hi there, I have been using your Akeeba Backup for Joomla for years and this is the first time I am using it for Wordpress and unfortunately I cannot get it to work properly.

Basically, my client has an old wordpress site (running on WP v3.5) and they need it updated to the latest version. So I decided I would purchase my favourite joomla extension (Akeeba Backup of course!) to use with wordpress to backup the site before I attempt to update wordpress and break everything haha!

I have installed Akeeba Backup, I can see it appear on my left sidebar menu in the wordpress backend. However, when I click on 'Configuration' for instance, it doesn't look like I would expect, there is nothing for me to configure (please see 1st attached screenshot). Also when I use the joomla version for the 1st time, it self configures. This did not happen with my wordpress version, so I tried the configuration wizard and I just get a blank screen (please see 2nd attached screenshot)

Please can you help me?
Many thanks,
Keith

Only versions of WordPress 3.8 and later are officially supported. We do have reports of earlier versions working, you will need to make the adjustments documented here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-solo/using-old-wordpress-or-no-jquery.html.

aha I see - ok no problem. I tried using the documentation you mention but unfortunately that didn't work.

So I just went for it and updated the wordpress version, and luckily it didn't break the site - it seems lady luck was smiling at me today, haha!

Thanks a lot,

Keith
