When I try to update my akeeba backup using the UPDATE button when I click "Update to latest version" I get this error.

An error occurred during the download of the update file
cURL library error #3: malformed

This is happening on all my workpress sites.

Also, one one of my sites I'd like to run a backup w/out the media files. Where is the setting to exclude them?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

This is a known problem in the 1.3.0 version. You will need to download the plugin from our Download page, extract it locally and transfer the files to your website via FTP, overwriting the existing files.

The good news is that the problem is fixed in the updated version, so the next upgrade should work as expected. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok,
Will this overwrite the configuration settings? Like sending backup to Dropbox?

Also, one one of my sites I'd like to run a backup w/out the media files. Where is the setting to exclude them?

Thanks,
Steve

No, the settings are stored in the database, so they are safe.

You can exclude Files and Folders from the Control Panel screen. You probably want to exclude the contents of the /media folder, not the folder itself. Joomla! would expect the folder to be there, the contents are optional.

Hi Dale,
What directory does Akeeba write to in WordPress? I don't see it in wp-contents/plugins.
Steve

dlb
Under Configuration, in the Basic Configuration section, the Output Directory is where the backup archive and log file are stored.

LOL I gotta quit doing this late night run to see if there are any open support tickets.

On my demo install the path is:
/wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp

That's odd, I have it installed and running but it doesn't show up in wp-content/plugins

dlb
If You have a multisite installation you should be looking inside the wp-content of the main site.

I'm having trouble understanding how to schedule a weekly backup.
Could you please point me to documentation on that?
Thanks,

dlb
