Hi - I'm getting the error message PHP 5.3.28 detected on a fresh install of Akeeba backup wp.
I run Joomla sites using Akeeba backup on the same server, and Joomla returns PHP 5.4.2.7.
I've checked with my host - VPS.net, and they confirm PHP 5.4.27 is running.
I've read through other posts on this problem which indicate both Joomla and my host are wrong.
Any ideas what I should do next?
Thanks
Ian

Sorry, the site is www.intelligentexecutive.com
Thanks

Ian,

Frequently hosts make multiple versions of PHP available. In many cases these versions can be chosen from the .htaccess file with an AddHandler command. Please check your PHP 5.3 website to see if you are forcing the older version of PHP for that site. There are other ways besides AddHandler, but that is the place to start.

Hi Dale - thanks for getting back to me, and sorry for the slow reply.
My host tells me there is only one version of PHP running on the server.
I will check out AddHandler and .htaccess.
Unfortunately, although the site is hosted on one of my VPS servers, it was built in Wordpress by a third party who is now off the scene. And I have never worked with WordPress before, so I'm feeling my way a bit.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks again,
Ian

Hi again Dale
I've just discovered the site has been moved to a completely different host, which explains the problem.
Is it possible to download an older version of Akeeba backup for Wordpress, which will work with PHP 5.3.28?
If so I could back up the site, and restore it to my own server again.
Thanks
Ian

That I can fix! The 1.3.4 version of Akeeba Backup for WordPress works under PHP 5.3. You can download it here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/backupwp/1-3-4.html.

Hi Dale - thanks for the link :-)
I've downloaded 1.3.4 - now begins the long task of persuading my client to let me bring the whole thing back home and start all over.
Thanks again for your help,
Ian
