Hi Nick, I hope you are keeping well.

I have a quick question for you.

Is it possible to send ticket notifications via [email protected] if the main configuration of Joomla has [email protected] as it’s “Send From” email address?

I have looked throughout settings and looked through other tickets but I don’t see it mentioned anywhere. Perhaps I am missing something?

The From address cannot be changed. It can interfere with whether the email is being sent. If you are using the SMTP email method in Joomla's Global Configuration the From address must match the SMTP authentication information provided there. If you are using Sendmail or PHP Mail the From address must be something that the Sendmail program on the server recognises as a valid mailbox. If we implemented a feature to change the From address most of the people trying to use it would have unsolvable mail delivery issues.

Instead, we change the Reply To address to the Category's email address. You configure that in each ATS category, not globally. While the From address will be the generic address used by your site, if someone tries to reply to the email they will get the Category's email instead.
