An error occurs when installing DocImport  v.2.1.2.

You have a newer version of FOF installed. If you want to downgrade please uninstall FOX and install the older version.

But there are no instructions on how to do this. Moreover, there is a question of how reinstalling will affect the work of other extensions and the site as a whole.

The DocImport component was installed, but I didn't find a tutorial on how to add articles.

You can ignore that message. It is printed whenever you install a package with an older version of FOF. I'd personally prefer it not to be displayed but Joomla does not have a way to silently prevent the installation of an older version.

Regarding DocImport's documentation, it's here https://github.com/akeeba/docimport/wiki Please note that it's meant to convert DocBook XML documents into articles.

I know that using Joomla articles would be much simpler. Unfortunately, Joomla articles have several problems regarding natural language searching. The database tables are set up in a way that makes implementing MySQL natural language searching impossible. Trying to change that would break how some queries in Joomla itself work. The only alternative for natural language searching would be using Smart Search but it's not enabled by default in Joomla 3. Seeing that in Joomla 4 this is the only search provided in Joomla and seems to be enabled by default we might pursue that option.
