After install on a Joomla 2.5.17 site I've got this error:

When you try reloading the Joomla! 3.2.2 site, does it load? Also, what was the previous Joomla! version you were upgrading from?

Hi Nicholas,

No it didn't reload :-( http://arantek.testjouwsite.nl/

It was Joomla 2.5.16 or 17, upgraded it with your tool tot 2.5.18 first. After that to 3.2.2.

PS
If you wish: I have a Akeeba backup of the site to test.

All right. Your problem seems to be that some old files were not deleted (that is not part of our code). Can you try performing the upgrade on a local server where everything is writeable to make sure that this is the issue?

Nicholas,

No :-(

This ends with a blank screen on frontend and backend and this in the url-bar:

http://localhost/arantek/administrator/index.php?option=com_cmsupdate&view=update&task=finalise

Please try using the attached version of the component. I applied a trick to support upgrades between major Joomla! versions.

My bad, I sent you the wrong package. Please use the latest dev release from https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/developer-releases/cmsupdatedev/C083609.html

Hi genious :-),

It works on localhost!

On the internet I had some issues:

1091 Can't DROP 'usertype'; check that column/key exists SQL=ALTER TABLE `i42ta_users` DROP KEY `usertype`;

Fout tijdens het laden van component: com_tags, Component niet gevonden

The database wasn't upgraded

OK, we're onto something here! The fact that it works on localhost means that my crystal ball worked and I correctly assumed that the problem was that the old files from 2.5.x were not being deleted. We fixed that.

Now, about the database not being upgraded this is not a problem and actually happens sometimes when you upgrade Joomla! either through Joomla! Update or by using the Manage Extensions to upload and install the update file. But it's dead easy to fix, too! Just log in to the site's back-end, go to Manage Extensions, Database and click on Fix.

Thanks!

Go on with this software! It's great for upgrade to 3.x.
