I downloaded the latest version of the MacOS version of the eXtract Wizzard and it will not run on two different computers running the latest version of MacOS 10.12.5

It starts briefly, then shuts down.

Any ideas on why it will not run?

Thanks,
Dom

Everything I know about this I could write on the back of a postage stamp, maybe it will be enough to point you in the right direction.

It's probably your version of Mono that's causing the problem. There are two versions floating around, a "pure" version and a modified version. The modified version doesn't work well with the eXtract Wizard.

If you need more information, I'll have to get Nicholas to answer. I know he won't be back until morning.

Thanks Dale!

I know nothing about what Mono is on my Mac.....I tried it on a 3rd Mac.
Is Mono shipped as part of the OS and will the "pure" and modified versions co-exist?

Perhaps Nicholas can answer in the morning.

Thanks again for the reply!

Akeeba eXtract Wizard 3.x is no longer support and I'd be surprised if it'd run on macOS Sierra.

The current version, 4.0.2, is a .NET application which requires the Mono runtime 4.5 or later to be installed on your Mac, as discussed on the download page. I have tried it on all three Macs I can get my hands on, only one of which is the one I use for development and one of which was a pristine install of macOS Sierra (the machine was prepared for sale but didn't get sold after all). It works just fine on all of them.

I was trying to use 4.0.2 I misunderstood about Mono, somehow I got the impression that it was included in macOS, hence the ticket. I will get and install Mono now.

Thank you for your swift reply. Appreciate it greatly.
I'll close the ticket once I get Mono installed and test it.
