Hello,

I wonder if it is possible to use UNITE to programatically install a local website (running under MAMP) on a remote server?

Thank you

Hello,

you can use UNiTE to run unattended backups and restorations on the same server where UNiTE runs.
What you're trying to do is technically possible, but it requires that your local site is publicly available on internet and you have the option to run custom scripts on the remote server.
What's your need? What you'd wish to do? Maybe there's another way to do it.

Hello Davide,

Thank you for your support.

My work is mainly to create Joomla! templates and Joomla! sites.
I prefer to work on a local environment (MAMP).

Creating templates and sites implies the creation of menus, modules and some test content and thus that implies creations/modifications in the database.
So when I need to show some steps in my work to clients, I'm publishing the whole Joomla! site to a staging remote server using Akeeba Backup.

I'm searching a way to simplify the synchronization between my local development and the staging remote server.
And I wonder if UNITE could help me for this.

Thank you

Ok, got it.
In your case the best thing to do is to use the Site Transfer Wizard. That should speed up your workflow.

Davide,

Thank you for your reply.

I will give Site Transfer Wizard a try.

Best regards
