Ok,

I got the backup to take, now while trying to download it i'm getting an error: Can't download the file of the specified backup record.

Any help?

Are you getting an error, like down in the status area of the application?

When you set up the site, did you specify your FTP host, username and password? There's also a test button to make sure it works before you start the backup.

Thanks for the reply:

Turns out that one of the settings needed changed in: components-->JoomlaPack-->configuration-->advanced tab:

I had the "part size for archive splitting set to high, I set it to "0" and the download took. I found a thread over here with one of the Pack gurus fixes on the download issue.

I'll have to say there was a big learning curve with this. For some reason I couldn't use default directory, had to go outside the root folder to install backup. Called my host provider but to no help they offered.

I hope using Kickstart now to move the site to another host is less complicated, think I have 10 hours into troubleshooting this.

If the archive part size is not set to zero, you can't download the backup from the Administer Backup Files screen by checking the box on the left. You have to download the individual parts on the right side of the screen. The check box works for a single part archive, which is what you have now.

I think the problem with the default Output folder was that you were getting the security warning. That isn't an operational issue, the backup will work fine. Your backup file is much more secure with the Output folder above the web root.
