When I restore a WordPress Akeeba Backup, I am asked in step 6 (Restoration and Clean Up) to "Run the Installer" which does not open a new window but runs in the current window. Thus I do not reach the "Clean Up" button which I should use after the installer.

P.S.: I am using Firefox 92.0.

Works fine in Safari 14.1.2...

We ask the browser to open a new window (basically, to create a new tab). Whether the browser does that or not is up to the browser. There is no other way to do it in a way that lets the new window know it was opened by Kickstart. Even if it opens in the same window there are instructions at the end of the restoration to remove the installation folder.

I didn't find those, but I guess it's removing Kickstart, the installation folder and the archive.

Correct. That's exactly what it does. If you do not see the instructions it means that Firefox opened the new window... and closed Kickstart's window. That's weird. I will try to reproduce this locally but something sounds odd. Do you have any third party browser extensions in Firefox? This kind of weird behaviour screams third party interference to me.

I tried to reproduce it using another backup (as my old one got deleted automatically) after disabling "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" and it worked fine. Even after re-enabling that setting it worked fine. I think I restarted the browser in the meanwhile too. I suppose it was some strange glitch in the browser as you supposed in your first post. Don't invest time in this, I am no longer able to reproduce.
