This is a known issue which will be fixed in the next version of Akeeba Backup, to be released tomorrow.

This is caused by using Joomla's Two Factor Authentication in at least one user account and if its Two Factor Configuration appears to be in a format used before Joomla 3.6.4. For what it's worth, even when you will be able to restore that site with Akeeba Backup 9.0.8 you will still be unable to log into the site with this user account since Joomla itself also has the same issue with these old user accounts.

hi,

Thank you for the information. Then I guess the best solution is to recreate the old user accounts?

best regards,

wolf.
