#39472 Question: Is it possible for category "Support Staff" users to access the back-end component without making them a component level "Support Staff"?

Hello,

I have observed that in order for a user to access Akeeba Tickets using the the backend component, that the user must be granted "Support Staff" permissions at the component level. Is it possible to allow category level "Support Staff" groups access to the Backend component without granting them "Support Staff" at the component level?

No, you cannot do that. The "Support Staff" permissions is the same as Joomla's "Access backend interface" i.e. the core.manage privilege. Since the backend divulges a lot of information otherwise not visible in the frontend it would not make sense separating these two concepts in ATS.
