Description of my issue:

On http://www.realtor.ca/PropertyDetails.aspx?PropertyID=10399677&PidKey=-1589005801 when I click on the "View Brochure" button link (near the top left of the page) it's supposed to go to http://www.johnlawler.ca/listings/listing/752-bayview-avenue.html.

The link on that site has been coded with a redirect. If you use that redirect manually (i.e. copy/paste it into a browser) it works fine: http://www.realtor.ca/redirect.aspx?&t=multimedia&r=http%3a%2f%2fwww.johnlawler.ca%2flistings%2flisting%2f752-bayview-avenue.html

However, simply clicking on the link does not work.

If I revert the .htaccess file to the "out of the box" Joomla one, this link works fine.

The site with this brochure link is a major real estate site used by all real estate agents in Ontario Canada. This is not a site we control, but certainly need to work with.

Any ideas?

Given the current time of day, i dont think Nick would be available for a little while yet.

I have a feeling i know what might be going on.

If you google http://www.johnlawler.ca/listings/listing/752-bayview-avenue.html

and try and access it, you will also get a forbidden error which = no good.

The Fix - Go into the htaccess maker for the johnlawler site. Under Server protection set

Anti-leech protection for static resources outside images/stories to NO

Save and test. Your Issue should be fixed.

I dont want to talk for Nicholas however i do believe he has earmarked a solution on the next release.

Let us know how you go :)

Yes, that would cause this kind of problem. Moreover, another option which may be conflicting with this kind of URLs is "Protect against common file injection attacks" in "Basic security". It will block URLs containing another URL inside their query. Please disable it and use the RFIShield in WAF Configuration instead as it is more thorough than the .htaccess rule and doesn't cause this ind of problems.

i also that that it could also be that.

the anti leech seems to be throwing "forbidden" erors from any direct link beyond the root domain name. Including those from google, so please hurry up and turn it off :)

Thank you both!

Of the two suggested solutions, the one that worked was turning off the anti-leech protection.
