There has been a number of reported issues regarding the installation of Akeeba Backup 8, Admin Tools 6 and Akeeba Ticket System 4. In this article we will tell you how to address them and why they happened (if you are curious).

Joomla! 4 is likely to move from Bootstrap 4 to 5 – right when it’s about to emit its first Release Candidate. Bootstrap 5 is itself in beta. Considering the uncertainty this brings we downgrade our J4 support to experimental effective immediately and until further notice. (UPDATED)

Today we have published releases for all of our public, free of charge software. All of that software now uses a new update site location. The previous update site, hosted on GitHub, no longer works. You will need to update your software manually.

We are aware that you may receive an error when installing Akeeba Backup 7.2.x, Admin Tools 5.7.x or Akeeba Ticket System 3.4.x when you have an earlier version of any of our Joomla extensions installed on your site and a system plugin of said extension enabled on your site. This is a chicken and egg issue.
