Remote CLI

Akeeba Remote Control CLI (Remote CLI for short) is a powerful command line application which can interface with a site where Akeeba Backup is installed in order to provide certain remote administration features, such as remotely taking backups, downloading backup archives, deleting backup records and upgrading Akeeba Backup itself. It is able to work in human– or machine–friendly output format modes so that you can either use it directly from the command line, or easily create a "wrapper" application around it.

Remote CLI is Free Software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 3 of the license or, at your option, any later version published by the Free Software Foundation. You should have received a copy of the license with the programme, contained in the file LICENSE.txt. Alternatively, use the --license parameter of the programme to display the text of the license.

Akeeba UNiTE

You can also download it from our Download section if you are a Deluxe subscriber.

Sometimes getting something done is a little more complex than reading a couple of pages in the documentation and clicking a few options. This section of our documentation contains our walkthroughs, a selection of how-to articles explaining how to carry out some of the more complex procedures which didn't fit into our documentation.

Akeeba Backup JSON API reference

Akeeba Backup 3.2.b1 or later includes a JSON API for taking, downloading and administering backups remotely. If you are a developer interested in integrating your software with Akeeba Backup please read this reference.

Warnings about potential issues

When Akeeba Backup detects established or potential problems with respect to your server setup or its own configuration, it will raise warnings. These warnings are displayed both in the Control Panel and on the backup page, where you enter the backup details.

Clicking on each of these warnings will bring you to the relevant page of this section of our site. Reading the article will let you understand what Akeeba Backup detected as an error, how it will affect your backup experience and – most importantly! – the possible workarounds.

Troubleshooter (Deprecated)

This section includes the original versions of the troubleshooting instructions. These instructions are now part of the main documentation of each software we publish. This section remains here to maintain the troubleshooting links for old versions of our software which predate the documentation content reorganisation.
