Update notes

As a general rule, Admin Tools will automatically take all necessary actions when installing a new version of our software to update your settings. In some cases, this is not possible, Joomla! fails to run our code which performs the update, or there are circumstances which might require manual intervention. This section of the documentation covers all these special cases, starting with Admin Tools version 7.0.0.

This list does not include new features you can optionally enable after upgrading Admin Tools. It only describes behavior changes which might need a manual action, or changes which might confuse or misguide you.

Version 7.0.5

Support improved Joomla Update in Joomla 4.0.4

Joomla Update stopped using the file administrator/components/com_joomlaupdate/restore.php, replacing it with administrator/components/com_joomlaupdate/extract.php.

When updating Admin Tools the new file, administrator/components/com_joomlaupdate/extract.php, will be added automatically into the list of explicitly allowed files for .htaccess Maker, NginX Conf Maker and Web.Config Maker. If this doesn't happen, go into the server config maker feature you are using and add it manually.

Either way, you MUST regenerate your .htaccess / nginx.conf / web.config file in Admin Tools after updating; Admin Tools will notify you this is necessary when you visit its control panel page.
