Installing Akeeba Backup for WordPress is simple. The first thing you need to do is to download the plugin from our site. It's a ZIP file. You now have two different ways of installing it on your WordPress site.
Go to your site's wp-admin section and click on Plugins, Add New. Select Upload from the top of the page. Click on the file selection area and select the ZIP file you downloaded from us. Then click on the Install Now button.
This may not work if your server has an relatively low upload size limit or if it's too slow. In this case please follow the manual installation procedure below.
Extract the ZIP archive you downloaded from us. Connect to your site by FTP and go into the directory wp-content/plugins. Upload the extracted directory akeebabackupwp inside it. This means that you will now have a directory wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp on your site with Akeeba Backup's files.
Finally, log in to your site's administrator panel (wp-admin). Go to Plugins and activate the Akeeba Backup for WordPress plugin.
