Akeeba Kickstart 3.1.2 is a bugfix release of our on-site archive extraction tool. This release also introduces support for encrypted (JPS) archives produced by Akeeba Backup Professional 3.1.b1 or later.
Changelog
New features
- JPS (encrypted archive) extraction support
Bug fixes
- Two consecutive uncompressed files in a ZIP archive would crash the extraction, rendering Kickstart unusable for extracting ZIP archives
- Non-ASCII file names (e.g. containing Greek, Cyrillic, Chinese or accented Latin characters) would mistakenly throw an invalid archive error while extracting
- Several notices thrown when extracting archives, interfering with the process on certain servers
- Kickstart would halt on an existing file/folder with restrictive permissions (x55 or lower) owned by the web server user when using the FTP mode.
Security information: The workaround involves giving very wide permissions (0777) on those directories and files which can not be written to. We urge you to fix your folder and archive permissions after your site's restoration if you are using the FTP mode. Ideally, all directories should have 0755 permissions and all files 0644 permissions. Kickstart can not do that due to potential timeout issues. You have to use an FTP client to do that manually.
