Delivering the future of Joomla! with our just-released Akeeba Backup 3.3.a1

It is our great pleasure to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Backup 3.3.a1 (alpha), the next generation of our acclaimed, award-winning Joomla! site backup extension. This version introduces major new features and several improvements over it's predecessor, version 3.2.7. We are at the forefront of Joomla! innovation and, with this new version, add more exclamation marks to the name of our favorite CMS!

For starters, we are introducing a unique One Click Update emails feature. When a new version of Akeeba Backup is available, your site will send you an email with a magic link. Clicking on it will automatically log in to your site's back-end and update Akeeba Backup. If you have dozens of sites you will be ecstatic about it!

We are also introducing a Site Transfer Wizard feature. It allows you to transfer your site from one host to the next directly over FTP or (if you have the Professional edition) SFTP, without the need to download and upload backup archives. We make it dead simple to transfer your sites between hosts!

We saved the best for last. We introduce System Restore Points, a feature that takes Joomla! years ahead of its competition. With this feature, Akeeba Backup will automatically take a backup of all the files and database contents of an extension when you are trying to upgrade it. if something goes wrong, you can roll back the Restore Point. It's backing up and restoring just one component, module, plugin or template and it's completely transparent. Never lose data again after a failed component upgrade!

All of these features are available free of charge, in our Akeeba Backup Core edition, available free of charge from our site's Downloads section. Support is provided free of charge, as always, through our support forum. If you want to see what a world class CMS' features will be ten years from now, download Akeeba Backup and experience the future on your own Joomla! site today!

Disclaimer: This is an alpha release and while we readily use it on our own site, it may still contain bugs. If you come across a bug, please report it to our support forum. Remember, a bug not reported is a bug never fixed.
