Akeeba Release System 1.0 just released!
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Release System 1.0 Stable, the first stable release of our software distribution and file repository component!
Akeeba Release System (ARS) is a unique component. It's the only file repository component built from the ground up with software distribution and ease of use in mind. It's in use not only by us, but other major component vendors. Recently, VirtueMart announced that they will be using ARS for their upcoming VirtueMart 2.0 release.
ARS also comes bundled with Live Update, our magical automatic update system for Joomla! components. Integrating it with your component or template is dead easy and allows you to provide the same kind of automatic updates that have been available for Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools ever since their inception.
The best things in life are free and Akeeba Release System is no exception to that! You can download it from our Downloads page without any charge. While the component is free, support is not. We normally require users wishing to request support for ARS to subscribe to AKEEBADELUXE or SUPPORT plan and file their requests through our Private Ticket system. That said, we want to help other developers succeed, giving more awesome powers to Joomla!. So, if you are a developer who wishes to use the component for distributing his Joomla! software, please contact us about the possibility of a reduced fee or free subscription to our support services.
