Admin Tools 1.0.1 was just released

We are pleased to announce that Admin Tools Core and Admin Tools Professional 1.0.1 was just released. This release fixes medium and high priority bugs discovered in the last stable release. All users are advised to upgrade.

This version includes important fixes to the .htaccess Maker feature of Admin Tools Professional. You are advised to visit that feature's page and click on "Save and create .htaccess" to refresh your .htaccess file with the latest changes.

This version addresses two important issues:

  1. Joomla! core upgrade wouldn't work on sites where cURL wasn't able to follow HTTP redirections. You would usually get an error stating that you have to download and install the update manually. This version fixes this issue.
  2. Updating the Joomla! core would fail on some servers with open_basedir restrictions stating that the / directory can't be created. This version now includes the latest unzip code, also found in Kickstart 3.1.5, which addresses that issue.
  3. The .htaccess Maker page would not save any custom .htaccess code you would like to have on the top or bottom of your file due to the way a core Joomla! library works. This version addresses that problem but requires that your server supports base64_encode and base64_decode (this is enabled by default, unless your host specifically chose to disable those functions)

Do note that, like the previous version, the single ZIP package distributed with this release is able to install or upgrade the component in the streamline Joomla! 1.5 and the upcoming Joomla! 1.6 versions of Joomla!.
