I am just about to restore a website onto a new AWS server. But AWS has a reader and writer end points for the database.

How can I restore a website onto that service?

What you have is a database cluster (formerly called master-slave but now this kind of wording is retired with extreme prejudice). Neither WordPress nor Joomla can operate out of the box with database clusters. You need to set up a single database server where both reads and writes take place against the same server.

Hi Nicholas

Thanks for the feeback. Was not something I have come up with before and have requested the database be rebuild on the server to allow the readwrite options. They have probably done this with the idea of security but sure there are better ways to acheive this.
