Hi,

First and foremost, your plugin is badass! I'm really pleased with the quality.

I'm having trouble getting my backups to S3. I've tried using a global key and user specific key as AWS was begging me to do. I've tried everything outlined in your troubleshooting and docs except where cURL is mentioned. I'm on localhost running MAMP and the php.ini makes no reference to cURL. I'm running El Capitan and typing cURL in terminal reveals that it's part of the OS. That's all I know how to do. Is it possible to get it going or should I spare us all a headache and just use Dropbox until the site is on my shared host? Do you know if it will work with Dreamhost? Thanks for any help. The original error displayed no matter the settings (SSL vs not, in parts or not, every size down to 1MB, etc.) is:

Upload cannot be initialised. Amazon S3 returned an error message: 0 :: Akeeba\Engine\Postproc\Connector\S3v4\Connector::startMultipart(): [0] The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. All I can add is that I'd like to use JPS but have tried the other options just in case.

I've already tried ALICE twice but she hangs and I gave up after 1000 seconds of server timeout. I'll leave it going once more to see if she works things out.

Thank you,
VirtualBartek

Please make sure your local computer is syncing with a time server. The signatures are time sensitive, if the time is more than 15 seconds off, the signature won't match.

I'm synched with time.asia.apple.com through the regular time and date preferences, and my bucket is set to Singapore.

According to Amazon's information that data center supports both version 2 and version 4 API. Please try to log in using the version 2 API.

Upload cannot be initialised. Amazon S3 returned an error message: 0 :: Akeeba\Engine\Postproc\Connector\S3v4\Connector::startMultipart(): [0] Access Denied Debug info: SimpleXMLElement Object ( [Code] => AccessDenied [Message] => Access Denied [RequestId] => 5B7EA8A1E5948DFE [HostId] => AtGiMLXUaHm0h04sbRNMwqxZA7k1dBzZWSaNPeSSKnrdd6xuRTdrko39WLEOIHWviOuxVxHDihM= )

Any chance we could try more than one thing a day? It will take a week to get this going at this rate. :)

I made a new pair of credentials and the whole thing decided to work. Maybe the account was too new? I don't know but it appears to all be well now. Thanks for trying to help a helpless case :)

dlb
Yes, it sometimes takes a while for the credentials to be active. I'm glad you got it working!
