Hi,

I'm having trouble updating your plugin from the admin panel. It tells me I'm out of date and then get:

"There was an error communicating with the update package extraction script restore.php. This usually indicates a permissions issue making this file unreadable to the web server or a server configuration (e.g. .htaccess file directives) issue blocking access to this file.
Please consult with your host for a solution."

So I contacted my host who say that the permissions are set properly. They also renamed .htaccess for I don't know what reason...maybe to reset the permissions in some way that just changing them wouldn't do? I don't know. Regardless, I'm still getting the same error. Could you please give me a pointer on how to do it? Would a manual update override my settings?

Thanks,
Bart

There were problems with the update script a couple of versions back, I think that is the problem. You can download the 1.9.1 version from our website, extract it locally, then FTP the files to your site, overwriting the existing files. They normally go in wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp. That should take care of the 1.9.1 update. The next one should work as expected since the problem is fixed in 1.9.1.
