When using Akeeba pro for WP. Selecting and backup and then clicking restore. i keep getting 

The extraction has failed

Extraction of the backup archive has failed.
The last error message was:

Unexpected token a in JSON at position 0

atus":true,"message":null}

Screen shot attached with chrome console response. if i edit restore.php file to include and additional 3 ### the script knid of works for a bit but fails after a bit. Looks like the restore.php file is recreated without my edits

If it helps at all i am running the site under Valet

also with this. running twenty twenty theme and no other plugins installed

Clear your browser's cache.

We made a change in restore.php and made the respective change in our JavaScript. However, your browsers seems to have cached the older version of the JavaScript which expected a different format of the data returned by restore.php. Clearing the browser's cache will solve that problem.

This may not work if you are restoring a backup taken with an older version of Akeeba Backup. In this case the restore.php file will be replaced during the restoration so the next request to it will fail because the old version of restore.php responds. In this case just use Kickstart to extract your backup archive.
