Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

We want to try and run remote CLI from our windows 10 pc to make backups of our Joomla Web sites.

We run automated CLIs every night. However, we like to do a backups prior component up grades.

Using the Backup now feature is very slow compared to the CLI.

I have read the CLI documentation and I can see how it works.

What I can't quite understand is how to install it on my Windows 10 PC and execute it.

Can you point me in the right direction to how to install and run.

Thanks

Hello,

the first thing you have to do is to install PHP on your machine. Once you have PHP, you can invoke the Remote CLI from command line in this way php remote.phar <options here>

There's no need to fully install a webserver with Apache and MySQL you only need PHP.

However! Please note that in this way you will perform a frontend backup which is slightly faster than backups taken from the backend, but they will be slower than CLI ones.
