8.OpenAI (“ChatGPT”)

This allows you to use TinyAI with the API of OpenAI, an American AI company.

Good to know:

  • Company: OpenAI

  • Model Families: ChatGPT, o1, o2, o3, …

  • Free Tier: No

To use TinyAI with Mistral follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Mistral account.

  2. Go to the API keys page.

  3. Click on Create New Secret Key to create a new API key, and note it down.

  4. Edit the System - AITiny plugin.

  5. Under AI Service select OpenAI.

  6. Enter your API key in the API Key / Token area.

  7. Click on Save.

  8. When the page reloads, select your Model.

  9. Click on Save & Close.

Notes and Caveats

Keep in mind that some models such as DALL•E, Whisper, etc as well as models with Audio or Transcribe in their name are not applicable for text generation and cannot be used with AITiny.

The o family of models (o1, o2, …) are reasoning models which can answer more complex questions but cost a lot more. The more generic GPT models are fine for most AITiny use cases.

You will need to use a model with Image listed under Input in its model card for the alt text generation feature. Please refer to OpenAI's Models page and click through each model to find out if it supports image input, and how much it costs.
