Always showing update information in the Plugins and Updates pages (Akeeba Backup for WordPress). Akeeba Backup's update information will now always appear reliably in WordPress' Plugins and Updates pages. Previously, Akeeba Backup used its own custom update integration which fetched update data independently of WordPress. This custom integration was prone to two problems: it could produce erroneous messages warning that the update was incompatible with your PHP version, and the database connection could time out while retrieving update information, causing the update to appear unavailable. The custom integration has been replaced with a completely new implementation that hooks directly into WordPress' native update system, eliminating both of these problems.
