I have moved my site from Sub-domain to Root domain and the site continues to not load and redirect to empty subdomain with 403 error. What files do I need to change to get the site to load from root?

I am using Admintools for Wordpress Pro. I have done this before and have looked in the wp-config.php and wp-settings.php .htaccess and made the proper changes but the site continues not to load properly. I have change the site access points in the database also

Your help is requested.

If there is a location with proper instructions how to move a site from sub to root a link to that information will suffice.

You have actually figured out the root cause of the problem: you can't just move the site's files, you need a full solution to also deal with WordPress' hardcoded URLs in its files and its database data, including serialised data.

The easiest way to transfer a site I can give you is to use Akeeba Backup Core for WordPress. This is our free of charge version. Check out the following video tutorials in this order:

The idea is to install Akeeba Backup on the site that's in the subdomain, take a backup and restore the backup on the main site.

I didn't do this the last time I transferred a site from Sub to Root, but your solution worked like a charm.

As always, I thank you for responding promptly and with the needed information to solve the problem.

Excellent work. You may close this thread.
