I just enabled the PW protection on Admin Tools, and am completely locked out. It asked me for the credentials once, said they were incorrect, then it doesn't ask me for credentials again but keeps me locked out.

Hello,
if you followed the Quickstart Wizard, a secret param to access the admin has been added. This means that you have to use a special URL to access wp-admin.
I'd suggest you to manually disable Admin Tools (more info here https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/troubleshooter/atwpwafissues.html), then login again, get inside the WAF Configuration page and note down (or change/remove) the secret param.
