Hello,

sorry for asking - searched the net, your help site - could not find the help I need:

I did not access our Wordpress site many months. Now trying to login I forgot the name of the path I set to prevent brute force admin logins...

I looked into the .htaccess.admintools file and could not find the name of the path I set.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards

The Change Admin URL feature in Admin Tools for WordPress replaced your wp-login.php with a custom path that only you know. Since you no longer remember it, the quickest way to regain access is to temporarily disable Admin Tools' Web Application Firewall by renaming the file it loads from.

Steps to recover access

  1. Connect to your server via FTP, SFTP, or your hosting control panel's file manager.
  2. Navigate to:
    wp-content/plugins/admintoolswp/app/plugins/waf/admintools/
  3. Rename main.php to main.php.bak. This disables Admin Tools' WAF entirely (nothing else changes on your site).
  4. You can now log in at the normal WordPress login page:
    https://die-glasperle.de/wp-login.php
  5. Once logged in, go to Admin Tools → Configure WAF → Basic Protection Features and look for the Custom admin login directory field. Note down or update the value.
  6. Go back to the file manager and rename main.php.bak back to main.php to re-enable the WAF.

This procedure is documented in the Admin Tools for WordPress documentation.
