After taking out my IP off the whitelist to test if Admin Pro ask me for the Backend Password I cannot see the site or go in the administration—

I remove the htpaasword and htaccess from the Administration and I check my root joomla htaccess for any funny entry — Nothing...

First time trying this,,, need help.......

Chacapamac
Ok, I did a booboo...
Probably by Getting out of the whitelist

I can see in the database
`jos_admintools_ipautoban`

My IP and the reason —> ipwl

Chacapamac
I’m no more in jos_admintools_adminiplist either

Chacapamac
Yep! I should read a little more before doing thing

If I understand well...
You NEED to be in the whithelist to have access to the site administration...

I was thinking (like RSFirewall) That the whitelist is only to not having to enter the firewall identifiant.

By disabling me to the white list and trying to access the administration more than the AutoBan (in the configuration) permit I become a Bad guy....

To get out of my mess..

1— Go inside the plugins/system/admintools directory on your site. You will see a file named main.php.Rename it to main-disable.php. This will turn disable the Web Application Firewall from executing and youcan access your site's back-end again. After you have fixed the cause of your issue remember to rename main-disable.php back to main.php, otherwise your site will remain unprotected!

2— Go in the administration and put me back in the whitelist

3— Take me out of in the administration of automatic ip ban

4- Rename to main.php

Chacapamac
I just receive my message that I was ban (in french) wher a slightly different way is mention in the message (how toughtfull)
Thanks Akeeba....

The only thing I can see in there that I dont like it’s that you have no message that the Administration access is already protect
— The only thing you got it’s the identifiant form without any message saying “Already Protected” Small thing!

Hi! I think that you should take a look at the Web Application Firewall's configuration documentation page. It's a very long read, but it's worth it. You will understand exactly how all of the options in Admin Tools' WAF work and what they do on your site. It will also become apparent why you got confused and why you don't really need a notification that your site's administrator section is already protected :)

Thanks Nicholas
I will read it carefully
As a long time user of another well known Firewall I can say that I’m sold.

Now all my site will have Admin Pro.
The highligt (to Me) are:
• Ability to update Joomla easily
• The extend of security you can acheive
• And all the smart tools around

Two thing I didn’t see
1— The ability to block the Joomla intall/uninstall administration panel

2— The ability to block any modification of the super-admin or admin users information

Bravo Akeeba, You bring Joomla to another level...

Hi!

Thank you for your kind words :)

Regarding both your feature requests, I am more than happy to inform you that they are both present in Admin Tools Professional's Web Application Firewall:

1. There is the "Allow access to Joomla! extensions installer" option which allows you to allow access to Joomla!'s Install/Uninstall page to Administrators and above (default Joomla! behaviour), Super Administrators only (recommended), or nobody (what you asked for).

2. It's called "Disable editing backend users' properties". By default it is set to Yes and will block any attempt to modify anything for any Moderator, Administrator or Super Administrator user. Even though you will be able to see the editor page, trying to save a new or modified record will result in a 403 Forbidden error :)

Excellent

I guess, if you put your backend Admin Tools password, the Installation and User modification become available again?

slaes
Chac,

No the do not become available again. They will only become available again once you physically make them available.

Chacapamac
Cool
