Hello there,

Admin Tools version is 2.1.13
Joomla version is 1.5.25

Description of my issue:
We recently added our IP address to the white list, but this morning it appeared to have blocked us to the website on our IP address.

Therefore we had to disable the main.php file to get back into the system. It looks like it happened because we incorrectly
typed the wrong password, just once, which triggered to lock the joomla system on our IP.

Is there anyway to make this a bit more flexible?

Many thanks
Luke.

If you add your IP to the whitelist, it won't get blocked. In fact, if you add your IP to the whitelist, no security checks will be performed when you visit your site from that IP address. Did your IP address change in the meantime?

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your response.

It shouldnt change as we are using a fixed IP address.
We have entered a Single IP into the whitelist.

Should the entered IP address be e.g. 192.168.1.1. or 192.168.1.1.?

Thanks

Luke.

It should be something like 192.168.1.1 without a trailing dot. Also note that if the site is public (on the Internet) you must specify your external IP address (e.g. the DSL router's Internet-facing IP address), not the internal network address. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, visit whatismyipaddress.com to see which is your public IP address. This is what you most likely have to put to the white-list.

Hello again,

Yeah we are using the external IP e.g. 88.96 instead of local 192.168.
We are running 7 computers on the network ip, but it should be generic thing.

Anyway i have made sure that there are no trailing dots after the IP address and will keep an eye on for now, i appricate your assistance.

Thanks again nicholas
