Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 1.5.25
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.0.92
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: 2.2.a2 FORTUNATELY!!!

Description of my issue:
I received from my production website an email related to the new Admin Tool Version 2.2.a2.
I didn't realized that it was an Alpha version and I clicked on update link.
Now the Version 2.2.a2 is installed on my production website!
How can I go back to the official 2.1 branch?
By when will you release a stable version of the 2.2 branch?
How can I avoid such error (production website should never send information about Alpha version in my opinion...).
Please help.
Regards,

I've already documented how to do that in the release announcement: https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/item/1272-admin-tools-2-2-a2.html

Could you add a 'Minimum release stability for update notifications' option within the options of admin tools like you have in Akeeba Backup?

This would solve these issues and be consistent with your other products?

Keep up the good work,

Cheers,

Dave

What is wrong with 2.1 that you have to release 2.2.a2 when it is possibly not stable? Don't want to f$#k up my website if necessary. Just sayin'

Sometimes doing a simple search can give you the answer you want without having having to resort to expletives. Just saying...

My point being, I have your software to send emails to me when a new release is available, now since I don't install 2.2.a2 on any of my sites, I am being inundated with emails to update the software. THIS IS A BIG PAIN IN THE REAR.

user29002
expletives? where? you must mean that little bit of French that I'm using. ;)

Nobody reads a forum thread in less than 30 seconds (at least, nobody reads and UNDERSTANDS what he's reading that fast). Plus, had you read the thread I linked you to, you shouldn't even be asking.

Hint: emails are sent by a plugin activated on your site. Guess what happens when you disable the plugin? ;)

Yes, I understand it can be turned OFF, however, now, until there is a new update to a stable version, I must go into each site, turn off the notification, then when there is an update, I must then turn them back on. Or maybe it is more simple than that. I am not a professional like you.

I like these tools you provide though.

The email is just a convenient shortcut. Once a stable version is released you can simply log in to each site, click on Components, Admin Tools, UPDATE FOUND and click the Update button. The email link does the above automatically.

BTW, even if it's still called an alpha, 2.2.a2 is functionally ery solid and its protection against threats works normally. There are a few features I have not implemented yet and a few rough patches in the UI (some buttons never meant to be included which throw an error if clicked), but it's generally stable. Even if you accidentally upgrade to it, it won't break/kill/destroy or otherwise hamper your ability to use your site.
