Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Searched forums and Docs for Admin Tools > Updating Joomla! section.
Have I searched the tickets before posting? No
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: (1.5.25)
PHP version: (5.2.15)
MySQL version: (5.0.92-community-log)
Host: (cPanel. Our own hosting)
Admin Tools version: (Most recent)

Description of my issue:
We are wanting to update numerous Joomla! 1.5.25 sites eventually to 2.5. I'm trying to find out if I can simply install Admin Tools on the 1.5.25 site and it will update it all the way (through 1.7) to 2.5.x?

Or will I need to do it in segments somehow?

Also, the template for the 1.5.25 site is being used in Legacy mode. Is Admin Tools complete enough to update the necessary files to update the template?

thanks.

No, Joomla! 1.5 to 1.6/1.7/2.5 is not an update, it is a migration. You have to partially rebuild your site. You need a tool like jUpgrade or SP Upgrade to perform this task. Admin Tools can't help you. It can, however, help you upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 to 2.5 to all the next versions of Joomla! (3.0, 3.1, 3.5, ...) as they become available. Since Joomla! 1.6, all upgrades are now one-click and do not require rebuilding your sites. It took the Joomla! project almost 7 years, but now we have true updates, not the rebuild process we had to suffer from 1.0 to 1.5 and 1.5 to 1.6 :)

Oh, right. I had forgotten about the "migration" sorry. Thanks for the useful advice on SP upgrade.

Luckily, it will be the last time in the foreseeable Joomla! history that we have to talk about a "migration" :) Believe me, I am just as pissed off about the migration business as the next guy. I have to waste some of my valuable time doing the same thing for my blog *sigh*

Yeah, SP Upgrade seems more solid than jUpgrade, albeit it doesn't support third party components. Well, you can't have it all in this life.

Yes, once we have all our client sites on 2.5, we'll all have a party.
By the way, your Admin Tools works perfectly with our 1.7 sites. Thanks for such a great product.
